Once a fishing village, today the exclusive resort, the island of St. Stefan, infuriates the multi-year history. Niame, stone houses on the island were built by traders and fishermen in the 15th century, so the locals wanted to protect themselves from the invasion of Turkish pirates. By the dedication of Pustrovic, in 1442, the prey of Turkish galias established the island and built twelve houses, one for each of the Pasztrona tribes. It was a shopping mall, the Paštrović traffic center and almost 300 years the headquarters of Bankad - the Pasha Tribal Court. The resort was named after the church on the top of the island, dedicated to the Holy Archduke Stefan.
